n statistics, there are three kinds of averages: mean, median, and mode I have told about -MEAN-MEDIAN-MODE: in one of my previous post pl visit for definition http://maths4ur-kid.blogspot.in/2017/03/mean-median-mode-and-range.html  For each problem below, find the mean, median, and mode. 1 ) 13 7 9 15 14 12 11 9 2) 16 15 16 16 21 5 9  3) 62 68 75 72 68 79 4) 7 13 24 16 22 13 7 6 5) 24 16 23 16 15 35 19 6) 7 14 11 12 11 20 8 5 10 7) 12 14 ,17 19,27,18, 27, 21 8) 35, 23, 19 , 29 , 20 ,23 ============================================ Adding and Subtracting Mixed Numbers Process -First, convert your mixed fraction to an improper fraction. -Next, find a common denominator and add or subtract the fractions. -Last, convert the answer back to a mixed fraction For each problem below, follow the steps given above ================================================= Multiplying Fractions -When multiplying fractions, -First, i...

Question : Retail Division accounts for 40% of ABC bank’s profit. If the bank wants to grow its overall profit by 15% only through the Retail Division, by how many percentage does this division’s profit have to grow? Solution: let Pi be the bank's initial profit. retail=0.4Pi other=0.6Pi They want to increase their profit by 15% to become Pf=Pi(1.15)=(1+g) retail profit + other profit (1.15)Pi=(1+g)(0.4Pi)+0.6Pi 1.15Pi=(0.4(1+g)+0.6)Pi 1.15=0.4(1+g)+0.6 0.55=0.4(1+g) 1.375=1+g g=0.375=37.5% =========================================== Question : Aishi sold his dinning table set at a loss of 20%. If she had sold it for Rs 600 more, she would have received a profit of 5%. What is the cost price . let X is cost prize  Selling prize with 20 % loss = 0.8 X Selling prize with 5 % profit = 1.05 X 1.05 X - 0.8 X = 600 0.25 X = 600 X = 2400 cost prize Rs 2400 ==========================================  If the cost price of 12 pencils is equa...

Mean Median Mode and Range

Mean is actually is a average which you can calculate by diving the count of numbers in  set of data to the sum of all the number given in set of data  for example data set is { 10 , 13 , 17 , 18 , 12 }  Sum of all number 10 + 13 + 17 + 18 + 12 = 70 and number of numbers is 5 Mean = 70 / 5 = 14 Median is actually a middle number if numbers are arrange in a order ascending/ descending means to find the median first arrange the set of data in a order and then pick a middle number example 1 : count of number is odd  data set is { 10 , 13 , 17 , 18 , 12 } arranging the set in order { 10, 12, 13, 17, 18 } median is 13 as it is a middle number example 2 : count of number is even  data set is { 10 , 13 , 17 , 18 , 12 , 14 } arranging the set in order { 10, 12, 13, 14 ,17, 18 } now we have two middle numbers so take the average to find the median median is 13.5 Mode :  It is the value that repeated most often.  example1 :...
